It's going to be a lazy Sunday around here today. I haven't had one of those in quite a while.
I've got time to peruse the March edition of Vogue and stumble upon this amazing solarium that belongs to fashion designer Tory Burch.
That "pop of green" table slays me. It's the perfect spot for the NY Times, tea, and
Scrambled Egg in the Hole
1 large egg
coarse salt and ground pepper
1 slice crusty Italian bread (1 inch thick)
1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 ounce extra-sharp cheddar cheese, coarsely grated
1. In small bowl, whisk together egg and one teaspoon cold water; season with salt and pepper. Using the rim of a small glass, cut hole in bread; discard cutout.
2. In a large nonstick skillet, heat butter over medium until foaming. Place bread in skillet; carefully pour egg mixture into hole (if egg leaks out of the bread, use a spatula to push it back). sprinkle egg with cheese.
3. Cook until egg begins to set, 3 to 4 minutes; gently flip the bread and egg. Continue cooking until egg is set, 1 to 2 minutes.

Jasper Conran's "Ven House" took my breath away when I first spotted it in the October issue of World of Interiors. I love everything thing about it.
One of the things that caught my eye are the grass firewood baskets on either side of the hearth. They bring warmth and a rustic elegance to the space.

You don't need a fireplace to utilize these beautiful vessels. I love them as storage for books and periodicals.
Speaking of books...
I'm currently deep into the last book written by Christopher Hitchens. He is my second favorite author of all time (Miss Austen being the first). I'll admit that's an odd pair, but if you think about it, they are both English, and both have such a way with the written word that you can read them over and over again, and never tire of it.

I'm 50/50 on this lamp at Restoration Baby and Child.
I love the green shade, but can't help wondering if it's trying too hard to be "industrial".
This task lamp can be yours for $189.

Later on this evening I'll be watching the Oscars. But this afternoon, I'll visit with some old friends...
Benedict Cumberbatch (excellent name!) and Martin Freeman, are the principles of the BBC's "Sherlock", shown in the U.S. as a part of Masterpiece Mystery Theatre on PBS.
I became addicted in the first five minutes of season one last year, so I had to purchase the DVD...
